The closest comparison on this site
Most services we compare ourselves to do something structurally different — handwriting, e-cards, per-send campaigns, recognition platforms. The Birthday Company does what we do: mails a physical birthday card to your list, automatically, every year, and reschedules it for the following year without you asking.
They’ve been doing it since 2006. They’re a real company with two decades of mailings behind them, and this comparison is close enough that the right answer genuinely depends on what you want.
Price
The Birthday Company charges $4.95 per card, and postage is billed on top. Their published materials show postage around $1.07 on comparable mailings, putting a card at roughly $6.02 all-in per person per year.
Delivered Cards is $5 per person per year, with card, printing, envelope, and USPS postage all included. There’s nothing added at checkout.
| The Birthday Company | Delivered Cards | |
|---|---|---|
| Card | $4.95 | Included |
| Postage | ~$1.07, separate | Included |
| All-in, per person, per year | ~$6.02 | $5.00 |
| 100 clients | ~$602 | $500 |
| 300 clients | ~$1,806 | $1,500 |
| Contracts or minimums | None | None |
| Setup fees | None | None |
We’re roughly 17% cheaper all-in. That’s the clearest fact in this comparison, and it’s the main reason to pick us on price alone.
But price isn’t where the interesting difference is.
What they include that we don’t
This is the part worth reading carefully, because they include things we’ve deliberately chosen not to build.
Your logo on the card. Theirs is a branded business mailing. Ours isn’t — your return address appears on the envelope, and that’s the extent of it.
A printed signature. They reproduce your signature in high resolution so the card reads as hand-signed. We print your typed message. For a client-facing professional mailing, that’s a real gap.
Multiple occasions. Holidays, anniversaries, thank-you, congratulations, sympathy, get-well. We do birthdays and nothing else.
Gift attachments. Chocolates, candies, and gift cards at tiers running from roughly $7.95 up past $100, including Starbucks and Amazon cards. This is clearly a meaningful part of their business.
A longer track record. Two decades versus our comparatively short one. If vendor longevity is a factor for you, that’s theirs to claim.
If you want a branded, signed, multi-occasion client mailing program with optional gifts, they’re built for that and we aren’t. Say so to yourself honestly before choosing on price.
What we do differently
No upsells, at all. Our whole revenue model is $5 per person per year. There’s no gift catalog, no premium tier, no expedited option, no branded upgrade. That means we have exactly one way to make money — you keep the subscription — which only happens if the cards show up. Their model layers gifts on top of the card, which is a legitimate business and a different set of incentives.
Postage included. One number, no arithmetic. Small thing, but the number of services in this category that quote a card price and add postage later is high enough to be worth noting.
We publish our limitations. Every page on our site says what we can’t do. That’s a deliberate choice, and it’s easier to make when the product is small.
No year of birth, anywhere. There is no field for it in our system. For anyone handling client data, that’s one less thing in a vendor’s hands.

Who should choose which
The Birthday Company if:
- You want branded, signed cards that read as an official firm mailing
- You send more than birthdays
- You want gifts attached at higher price points
- You’re a financial advisor, medical group, or professional practice looking for a full client-appreciation program
- Vendor longevity matters to you
Delivered Cards if:
- You want the lowest all-in price with nothing added at checkout
- Birthdays are all you need
- You’d rather not be sold gift upgrades every year
- You want the card to read as personal rather than corporate
- You want the whole thing set up in fifteen minutes
The honest summary
They have more features and more history. We’re cheaper all-in, and we don’t sell anything beyond the card.
The clearest way to decide: do you want this to look like it came from your firm, or from you? A logo and a printed signature make it a professional mailing, which is exactly right for a 300-client advisory book. A plain card with your return address and a typed message reads more like a person, which is what most employers and small businesses want for their teams.
Neither answer is wrong. They’re just different products at nearly the same price.
