Just two people, a printer, and a lot of stamps.

Delivered Cards is a small business run by my wife and me from our home in Virginia. Every card that goes out is printed, stuffed, stamped, and mailed by us.

How it started

Honestly, it came from guilt. I kept missing birthdays. Not on purpose, but by the time I remembered, it was already too late to get a card in the mail. A text saying “happy birthday!!” two days late just doesn’t feel great.

So we started thinking: what if you could set it up once and have someone else take care of the card every year? You pick the design, write the message, and someone makes sure it actually shows up in the mailbox on time.

We couldn’t find a service that did that in a way we liked, so we built one ourselves.

What happens behind the scenes

There’s no warehouse or fulfillment center. When a birthday is coming up, we get a heads up. Then we print the card, write out your message, put it in an envelope, and take it to the post office. That’s it. Nothing fancy.

Everything happens from our house in Virginia. We know that won’t work forever if this grows, but for now it means every card gets actual attention before it goes out. For something like a birthday card, that matters to us.

Why physical cards still matter

Texting someone “hbd” takes about two seconds. And it feels like it. But getting a real card in the mail? That’s different. People keep those. They put them on the fridge or on their desk. It tells someone you actually thought about them.

Delivered Cards lets you be that thoughtful friend without needing to remember dates or find a post office. You set it up once, and your people get a real card every year. We think that’s a pretty fair trade.
