Delivered Cards vs Simply Noted

The short version

Simply Noted is a handwritten note service. Real pen, real ink, priced from about $3.25 per card, with volume discounts and bulk plans for businesses running outreach campaigns.

Delivered Cards is a birthday subscription. $5 per person per year, printed not handwritten, and the card keeps arriving every year without anyone doing anything.

Those solve different problems. The overlap is narrow enough that for most people the choice is obvious once it’s stated plainly.

Price

Simply Noted starts around $3.25 per card, which covers the card, the handwritten message in real ink, and the envelope. Volume discounts reduce that at scale, and they offer subscription and bulk plans for ongoing campaigns.

Postage is the thing to check on any per-card service. At current USPS First-Class rates, add roughly $0.80 per piece unless it’s explicitly included in the quote you’re given.

Delivered Cards is $5 per person per year, all-inclusive — card, printing, envelope, and postage. There is no plan and no separate postage line.

Per card, they’re cheaper. We’re not going to spin that.

The difference is in what recurs. Their price is per send; ours is per person per year, indefinitely, with no action required after setup. Whether that’s worth roughly a dollar a head depends entirely on how much you value not having to think about it again.

Volume also flips the comparison the other way: at 500+ pieces their discounts are real and our flat rate isn’t. We don’t do volume pricing. At that scale, run their numbers.

Handwriting

Simply Noted’s entire value proposition is real handwriting, and it’s a good one. Pen on paper reads differently from print — people can tell, and for outreach that difference is often the reason the card gets opened and kept.

We print. Clean typeface, your message exactly as you wrote it, but printed. We say so plainly everywhere on our site rather than implying otherwise.

If the handwriting is the point, they’re the right choice. That’s most of the reason to buy a service like theirs.

Where we’d push back gently: for a recurring annual birthday card, the signal isn’t the ink. It’s that the card came at all, on time, for the fourth year running. A recipient doesn’t think “this was hand-lettered” — they think “they remembered again.” Different mechanism, different product.

What each is built for

Simply Noted is built for campaigns. Sales outreach, customer thank-yous, re-engagement pushes, appreciation drives — batches of notes sent because you decided to send them, often tied to a CRM export or an integration.

Delivered Cards is built for a list of people whose birthdays you don’t want to miss, ever, without maintaining anything. There’s no campaign concept. There’s a list and a renewal.

That distinction predicts the right answer better than price does:

Who should choose which

Simply Noted if: handwriting matters, you send more than birthdays, you’re running campaigns rather than a standing list, you send in bulk, or you want integrations.

Delivered Cards if: you want birthdays handled permanently, you’re sending to tens or low hundreds of people, you want one all-in price with postage included, and you’d rather never revisit the decision.

The honest summary

Simply Noted does more than we do, does it in real ink, and is cheaper per card. If you’re comparing on features, they win.

We’re narrower on purpose. One occasion, one flat price, no plan, no postage line, no campaign to re-run each year. The card shows up annually because a subscription renewed, not because you remembered to trigger it. For a birthday list, that’s the whole job — and it’s the only job we do.

Weighing several options? Our buyer’s guide to automated birthday card services covers the category, and we’ve compared ourselves with Postable and Hallmark as well.
